How the Tax Return Calculator works
Our Australian Tax Return Calculator applies the official 2025–26 individual income tax rates published by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). It compares the tax you should owe against the PAYG amount your employer has already withheld, then factors in the 2% Medicare levy, the Low Income Tax Offset (LITO) and any HECS-HELP repayment to give you a realistic refund estimate.
2025–26 resident tax brackets

| $45,001 – $135,000 | $4,288 + 30c per $1 over $45,000 |
| $135,001 – $190,000 | $31,288 + 37c per $1 over $135,000 |
